Team up with your little companions to take on other players, using different ammo types to claim victory. The core gameplay is simple and easy to pick up, and the multiplayer options make it even more engaging.

Your slugs need energy that builds up over time before they can release their power. To charge them, match as many elements on the game board as you can. Character portraits appear among the elements on the field, making it easy to spot which ones will feed energy to your slug. The more elements you match, the more energy you gain.

The energy meter on the left side of the screen shows how much power you've built up. An energy bar and energy line display your current level and the strength of the bullets you can fire. Collect more mana and push the mana line past 1, and you'll fire more bullets of the same type, each one larger. A glowing line signals that you're ready to fire a standard bullet.

POWER UP YOUR SLUGS

One interesting feature of Slugterra is that bullets can destroy enemy shots depending on their level. Bullets powered by an energy line can usually withstand one, or at most two, enemy bullets, so you can use them as a defensive tool to block incoming attacks. From line 2 onward, a projectile's damage scales with its size, and it can absorb several smaller bullets.

This mechanic rewards attention and adds tactical depth to each level, letting you choose the most suitable attack method. Over time, you'll be able to own more slugs, which are grouped by their star rating. Each time you open a chest, you'll find materials to level up your slugs, forming the foundation for boosting their power and defeating your enemies.
