Description

One Hour One Life for Mobile: This is an adaptation of Jason Rohrer's computer game for devices running the Android operating system. Fans of the original will recognize its quirky, charming hand-drawn art, its distinctive sound design, and its one-of-a-kind concept.

In this world, you begin either as the child of another player or, if no mother is found for you, as a young girl. One real-time minute equals one in-game year, and your character can live up to 60 years. You won't last forever, but whatever you manage to build will be passed down to your children and grandchildren. Do your best to make life easier for those who will enter this world after you, and your family line will flourish.

You might find yourself alone in the wilderness. Your first priority is to make a fire so you don't freeze, then set snares for rabbits. Their meat will keep you fed, and their hides can be sewn into clothing. At the start of the game, your most faithful companion is a simple sharp stone. Look for a good spot to settle and stockpile food. Before long, you can welcome other players into the world as your children. You'll need to look after them until they grow up and start helping you.

You might be born into a thriving city bustling with farmers, cooks, blacksmiths, shepherds, and hunters. There you'll rely on clothing and tools crafted by other players, perhaps by your grandparents or even more distant relatives. You may find friends and decide to found your own settlement. Or you might take over your uncle's farm, or go out and hunt bears and wolves. The possibilities are endless, but keep in mind: if you haven't left the world a little better by the end of your life, you should consider yourself to have lost.

Every new life brings you face to face with different players. Some will be more skilled than you, and some won't be around at all. One person will teach you something new, and another will learn from you. Someone may even try to tear down the civilization you're building, and you'll have to deal with them. For a brief stretch, until the next generation takes over, the fate of the world rests in your hands and in the hands of those playing alongside you.

When your life in the game ends, you can view your family tree and see how your descendants are getting on. Take pride in the younger members of your family who have made it to adulthood. After all, every generation of your bloodline owes you something: you're the one who laid the foundation for their prosperity.
