Gameplay
The story unfolds on a distant planet where monsters once roamed, and humans were too weak to stand against them. One day, however, people discovered a mysterious power that made them incredibly strong, and the monsters faded into the past. Life went on peacefully until the creatures suddenly returned, and the struggle began all over again.
Your adventure starts right here, and the story is revealed to you piece by piece. In my view, the game leans on too many cutscenes. Some players may enjoy them, but if you don't skip them, you can spend ten minutes playing and twenty minutes watching videos about the plot and other gimmicks. Thankfully, a skip option is available.
Your journey begins with a short tutorial that teaches you the basics of combat and shows you what bosses look like in this game. After that, you're sent to the city, where you can finally pick your first weapon.
The available choices are the two-handed sword, giant axe, dual blades, blaster, spear, and bow. Every weapon has its own unique feature and combat style. Keep in mind that ranged weapons usually deal less damage, but they keep you in a safer position than fighting up close.
Game Features
Constant questing starts here, sending you to different locations to fight smaller monsters first and then bosses. If you've played or watched a game like Monster Hunter on PC, you'll find the formula quite familiar. Your main goal is to defeat giant bosses and gather resources from them. Some bosses have to be tackled with a party, so you'll need to team up with like-minded players.
To grow stronger, leveling up alone isn't enough. You also need to collect enough resources and visit the forge, where new equipment is crafted for you. The gear looks impressive, and it's built piece by piece. The stronger the boss you defeat, the more powerful the items you can unlock. Upgrade your abilities, join a guild, and don't forget to check the shop, where you can spend in-game currency or real money, unless you're not tired of grinding yet.
