How It Works

Most aircraft broadcast their location through ADS-B transponders. Flightradar24 is rapidly growing its network of more than 20,000 ground stations worldwide to collect this data, which then appears as an aircraft on the map. In a growing number of locations, multilateration lets us determine the position of aircraft without ADS-B transponders. Real-time radar data supplements coverage in North America. Coverage may fluctuate and change at any time.
