Plan your defensive or offensive tactics in real time. Command every soldier in your squad while keeping a close watch on the enemy. In this game you can upgrade your fighters' stats by researching alien technologies that enhance their abilities. This includes genetic mutations for your soldiers and outfitting mechanized cyber suits with extra gear. Engineers in the labs also expand what you can build as the project develops.
Of course, new weapons and ammunition would hardly be necessary if you didn't have to face stronger enemies. New alien types are waiting for you, along with deadly opponents from the rival organization EXALT.
