WiFi WPS Tester Pro evaluates the security of your network by testing the WPS protocol.
WPS lets you join a WiFi network with an 8-digit PIN, which is usually preset on the router. The issue is that the PINs used by many routers from various manufacturers are either known or can be calculated.
The app tries these PINs to connect and determine whether a network is vulnerable. It includes several known PIN-generation algorithms along with a set of default PINs. It can also calculate default keys for certain routers, display Wi-Fi passwords saved on the device, scan the devices connected to your network, and analyze the quality of Wi-Fi channels.
Using the app is straightforward. When it scans nearby networks, those marked with a red cross are "secure" networks: WPS is disabled and the default password is unknown.
Networks marked with a question mark have WPS enabled, but the PIN is unknown. In this case, the app lets you test the most common PINs.
Networks marked with a green tick are the most likely to be vulnerable: WPS is enabled and the connection PIN is known. A router may also have WPS disabled while its password is still known, and these networks also appear in green so you can connect using the key.
To connect with a PIN, you need root access on Android versions earlier than 5.0 (Lollipop). Root access also lets you reveal the network password when a PIN connection succeeds; otherwise, you can connect to the network but cannot view the password. Each feature is enabled or disabled depending on the device's situation.
NOTICE: Not every network is vulnerable, and a network appearing as such does not guarantee that it is. Several companies have released firmware updates for their routers to fix this flaw.
