MOD features
This decensored Waze build offers several upgrades over the official release: the exact locations of fixed and mobile speed cameras are displayed, the speed limit sign is enlarged for easier reading, and a radar sound alert plays at any speed (the official version only alerts when you are speeding). The card skin uses a black background to save battery and improve readability. You also get new voice choices compared to the official version: Vanessa (unmodified), Morgan (the Cars voice, which is quite cool; if you prefer Morgan's original voice, delete the folder in waze / sound / french), Svenska (a French voice with a boosted sound), and Srpski (a Star Wars voice, the first one after the English voices). The signal button is a transparent gray instead of the solid orange circle used in the official version, which keeps the map easier to read and prevents the "burn-in" effect on AMOLED screens. You can also report a missing or incorrect speed limit by tapping the speedometer and choosing "report", an option not available in the official version. Announcement distances are increased compared to the official version: 1500 m on highways, 1200 m on fast lanes, and 1000 m on roads.
Note: the alert distance can be configured in the "Preferences" file by adjusting these two lines: Alerts.Alert Distanc_: 1000 and Alerts.Police Alert Distac_: 1000.
Speed camera warnings have been officially banned in France since January 2012. Using them is punishable by a fine of 1,500 euros and the loss of 6 points on your driving license.
By installing this version, you accept full responsibility for how you use it. In France, under the law still in force today, the police are not permitted to search your smartphone.

About Waze
Waze is a smart, community-driven app that lets users share and view real-time traffic maps for any route. It gathers and analyzes hundreds of thousands of traffic data points from its large user base to help drivers dodge congestion and other roadblocks. This is made possible by its high-definition location technology. When you want to reach a destination, Waze suggests it almost right away, and a route is ready instantly. The app takes pride in offering shortcuts and time-saving routes. Compared with similar applications, Waze uses a far more advanced positioning and traffic update system, which makes it brighter and more user-friendly.
The app goes beyond basic navigation and includes social coordination and family safety tools. It even lets users locate family members through GPS. This is valuable to many people for various reasons, though the main use of GPS location tracking is to find out where a family member is. The tracking is very precise and keeps a history of a person’s movements and route. Any safety-minded family head can set up tracking that is simple to use and packed with features. The Share ETA (estimated time of arrival) feature makes coordinating plans easier. Users can schedule meetups, whether at a particular restaurant or café, or plan group trips. By sending a Group ETA, everyone in the group receives navigation directions and voice instructions (provided the app is installed on their device). This gives full visibility into the planned trip, showing when each person has set off and when they are expected to arrive.
The app also helps with managing road tasks and improves road safety. It has a built-in speedometer that tracks your speed and alerts you when you reach the speed limit. It delivers repeated warnings to help drivers avoid traffic violations and maintain a safer driving style. It also helps locate the best navigation routes. Beyond navigation, it finds the most affordable gas stations, showing fuel prices at each one so users can pick the cheapest option. Drivers can also estimate toll costs for their trip. The app reduces distracted driving by supporting voice commands for searches, so you can use the map without looking down to type in directions and stay focused on the road.
A standout feature of this software is its global offline map support. Many navigation apps depend on 4G or Wi-Fi to load map data and determine your location. This app, by contrast, delivers map data and location services without any internet connection. As a result, users can always see where they are and figure out how to reach their destination, regardless of signal strength. The software is installed directly on each user's device and provides ongoing road safety alerts. Its map is built to be both informative and easy to use. It relies on GPS to deliver fast, continuous tracking along the entire length of the road and across the full extent of the map. These tools work together, from speed monitoring to offline access. The goal of the application is to make road travel more convenient for every user.
