Description

Wakelock Detector is a tool built on Android's power management service. It can keep the CPU running (partial wakelock) or keep the screen lit (full wakelock). When an app misuses wake lock privileges, the CPU or screen can stay active without you noticing, which drains the battery quickly.

Has your screen stayed on when it should have turned off, or woken up on its own? Or has your battery drained even after you closed your apps and switched off the display? Wakelock-holding apps may be to blame. Wakelock Detector checks your wakelock usage history to find the battery-draining apps on your Android phone, so you can see exactly what keeps your device awake while it is idle.

Wakelock Detector displays wakelock usage statistics for every app that has held a wakelock since boot. By default, it lists CPU wakelocks sorted by longest usage time. You can also switch to the Screen wakelock type to see screen-related wakelocks. For example, if your screen stays on after the timeout or turns on by itself, choose the Screen wakelock type at the top (Brightness icon) to find which apps are responsible. If you care about apps running right now, change the sort order to "Active" to bring currently running apps to the top. For more details, see the FAQ in Settings.

How to use:

#1 Charge your phone above 90% and unplug the cable (or simply reboot the phone). #2 Give it one to two hours to collect wakelock usage statistics. #3 Open Wakelock Detector. #4 Check the apps at the top. If they show a very long wakelock usage time, you have found the cause of your battery drain!
