Description
Hacked Prince of Persia Classic
Relive the good old days and help the Prince rescue his beloved. Stay alert and nimble, since you can't count on 3 lives.
Gameplay
The classic gameplay brings back the dynamics you remember from the old-school originals. You'll need to get past obstacles, leap across gaps, and haul yourself up ledges. The combat system is still there too, including the ability to block and strike. Still, blocking enemy attacks will depend far more on your own sharp reflexes than on any shortcut.
Just like in the original "Prince of Persia", traps lie in wait at nearly every turn, and they're not limited to spears and spikes. The new game, however, gives you 3 lives (you can revive at the spot where you died), so you won't have to restart the whole level from the beginning.
To keep you from getting lost, magic sand floating in the air points out the way forward. A map is also available to help you navigate between levels.
Graphics and controls
The game's visuals are two-dimensional, yet the detail, colors, animation, special effects, and overall design are a real treat for the eyes. This is a far cry from the pixel art with barely recognizable character outlines found on Java or consoles.
Ubisoft's studio reworked the graphics thoroughly, so you'll be satisfied with how the game looks and plays.
The controls are fully adapted for mobile touchscreens. A virtual joystick sits in the lower left corner of the screen, with three action buttons on the right, including strike and block.
