Description
Virtual Droid
Created by a Spanish developer, this app is a counterpart to VRChat on Steam.
Features
It's a bit tricky to define exactly what this app is, whether a program or a game. In reality, it's a virtual chat space where, with the right VR headset, you can step into a richly detailed 3D world.
There, you can talk with other users about all sorts of topics through a microphone. Along the way, you can also wander through vast and varied locations.
Beyond a conference room for conversation, you can drop by cafes, jungles, forests, and more.
You can even pay a visit to a space station. These maps, by the way, were built by the chat's own users.
If you like, you can transform into a well-known cartoon or movie character and chat with others in that form.
What's more, your avatar is a full three-dimensional body that follows your gestures, leg movements, and facial expressions.
It's fair to say this marks a real shift in online communication, since you can not only see the person you're talking to but fully immerse yourself in a virtual reality world together.
