Recce has been named “App Of The Day” by MyAppFree, and it's free to download from February 18 to 20! MyAppFree is a handheld calculator and GPS app. It is built on the Maps SDK and the Fused Location API, delivering high accuracy with low power consumption for long expeditions.

Map

* Instant updates of coordinates and grid references

Pins: Mark points of interest and save them to the map.

* Routes: Place checkpoints and draw lines to outline a path.

* Areas: Join the ends of Routes to mark out an area.

* Geodesic Distance: Lines drawn on the map follow the shortest path between two points on the Earth's surface.

Pins or Markers

• Organize and sort saved items into groups or assign them colors.

* Sort and delete saved Pins, Routes, or Areas

* Add multiple Pins to the Ruler in sequence

GPS

* The Fused Location API pinpoints your location with greater accuracy while consuming less power.

* Shows your bearing using your device's built-in position sensors

* Graphical compass for navigation and wayfinding that works in any orientation or rotation.

Ruler

* Measures the distance between Pins.

* Supports adding multiple Pins for cumulative measurements.

* Add Routes and Areas to get distances and straight-line directions between checkpoints.

Coordinate Systems:

Recce supports the following systems:

1. WGS84 Latitude and Longitude

2. UTM across all zones

3. MGRS, available only within UTM coverage

4. Kertau (RSO) / RSO Malaya (m)

5. British National Grid (BNG)

6. Maidenhead Locator System (QTH Locator)

Note 1: This app respects the area of use for each system. It returns N/A for locations that fall outside a system's boundaries.

Note 2: This app does not support UPS (Universal Polar Stereographic) and there are no plans to add it.
