Artistic vision

The concept for unWorded stems from a deep passion for typography. We believe letters do more than just communicate meaning; they define space. We wondered if an entire world could be crafted from simple characters. What would it look like, and how would it feel to exist within such a universe? This curiosity led us to explore a writer's mind, observing how memories surface and coalesce. We focused on a straightforward yet captivating gameplay mechanic where players arrange letters into objects, each unlocking a significant memory. Our goal was to foster a sense of intimacy, allowing the player to engage deeply with the author's personal journey.

Our intention with unWorded was to explore complex emotions and thoughts. The narrative tackles the difficult subject of grief, guiding players through its various stages: shock and denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and finally, acceptance. The plot follows a children's book author hospitalized after a tragic accident. As his wife reads his own fairy tales to him, you journey into his subconscious, experiencing his final reflections on his life and work as he balances on the edge of mortality. – The unWorded Team

Bento has been crafting mobile games since 2010. Based in Lyon, this two-person team is united by their shared passion for creating original and innovative gaming experiences. Benoit handles the art, sound design, and music, while Séverin manages the technical programming. With unWorded, the Bento team has finally realized their ambition of producing a narrative-driven game that delivers a truly poignant story.
