Trees Hate You is a survival action-adventure set in a living, hostile forest. What makes it stand out is its reactive environment, turning even a simple trek into a test of observation, patience, and nerve.

About Trees Hate You
In Trees Hate You, the forest is far more than scenery. It is the main antagonist, constantly generating dangers. Trees may block your route, interfere with your movement, or abruptly shift their behavior, so you rarely feel truly safe.
The game builds its tension through uncertainty, an isolated mood, and progress that demands careful steps. With time you can pick up on subtle changes in the surroundings, yet the woods still hold surprises that keep every journey from feeling fully under control.
Trees Hate You Gameplay
Gameplay centers on exploring a dense forest, reading the patterns of the environment, and finding the most sensible route. Study the trees around you, pick up on behavioral signs, then decide whether to push forward, take another path, or fall back when things turn too dangerous.
Every choice is a trade-off between speed and safety. Moving quickly speeds up progress, while slower exploration gives you more time to spot threats. Tools such as an axe can help when you have one, but using them may draw the environment's attention, so tackling an obstacle head-on is not always the best option.
Trees Hate You Features
Forest as an Active Threat
The environment directly shapes your journey rather than simply decorating it. Its reactions force you to keep watching for changes before every next move.
Diverse Tree Behavior
Trees display a range of behaviors, from seemingly harmless to blocking or disrupting your path. Because of this variety, even routes that look ordinary deserve caution.
Choosing Between Speed and Caution
You must weigh the benefits of moving quickly against the advantages of exploring slowly. These decisions can determine whether your progress stays smooth or leads you into threats that are hard to escape.
Tools with Consequences
The tools at your disposal change how you handle obstacles and offer alternatives to simply retreating. Aggressive actions, however, can provoke the forest, so each use should be weighed against the situation.
Oppressive Visual and Audio Atmosphere
Lighting, shadows, ambient sounds, and silence work together to keep tension high throughout exploration. Shifts in sound can hint at danger, yet they also make it hard to ever feel completely at ease.
Replayable Routes and Strategies
Varied tree interactions give you reason to try different routes or approaches in each run. Knowledge carried over from earlier sessions helps, although paths that once felt safe can still hide risks.
