Description
Do you enjoy minimalist, monochrome games? Step into The White Door and follow a man struggling with amnesia as you uncover his unique memories. You'll also control his actions according to a strict daily schedule, while tough challenges and thrilling puzzles await you along the way.
THE EXIT IS NOW OPEN
Previously, once you entered this strange world, you had to complete every challenge before you could escape the facility. In other words, you needed to find the memory that returns the protagonist to his normal state. With the latest version, The White Door has updated the basement exit, so you can leave whenever you like, without any barriers in your way.
AN INTRODUCTION TO A REMARKABLE MAN
Everything takes place in a room of a mental health facility that specializes in treating abnormal patients suffering from conditions such as dementia and neurosis. You play as Robert Hill, a highly intelligent man whose life was shaken by a series of personal incidents that left him with severe amnesia. Your mission is to help him recover his memories by gathering clues from strange dreams.
A STRICT SCHEDULE
Every day, you must follow the orders issued by the main office to the letter. A radio system guides you with a chilling, deep voice. After waking up and putting your feet on the floor, you're directed to the breakfast table, where a slice of cake and a glass of smoothie are already waiting. Once you've eaten, you head to the bathroom to brush your teeth until they're clean and fresh. Finally, you build strength through weight training.
A HAUNTING SOUNDSCAPE
The White Door feels like a frightening horror film, and its sound design is especially effective at unsettling players. Even the smallest actions are reproduced with precise audio, from the crunch of eating cookies to the buzz of a toothbrush. Every sound blends seamlessly with your actions, building a true classic horror atmosphere and promising an exciting experience.
STRIKING, UNIQUE VISUALS
The storyline is only part of what draws players into The White Door, as its visual design is just as distinctive. There's no color and no 3D abstraction. Instead, the interface appears in a minimalist style, dominated by white. Details are sketched with a black nib, standing out against the monochrome backdrop. Elements tied to your actions are highlighted in brighter colors, giving them a moment to shine whenever you interact with them.
A UNIQUE SPLIT SCREEN
Your adventures in the mental health facility are shown on a split screen, a feature that many players enjoy. The left side displays a wide, overhead view, much like an underground camera mounted on the ceiling, letting you observe what is happening in a clear, general way.
The right side offers closer views of each action. For instance, when you head to the breakfast table, you'll see exactly what kind of cake it is and how it's decorated. It also shows the speed and process of your movements. During dream sequences, one side displays the specific dreams Robert is having, while the other shows his facial expressions.
A BRAIN-TEASING PUZZLE SYSTEM
Life in this room is always engaging in its own way. Each new day brings a fresh atmosphere, and you can immerse yourself in its flow alongside unexpected, surreal events that test your skills. You'll need to find a way to help Robert Hill solve them and earn valuable medals. We've also designed a wide range of puzzle systems just for you. These are some of the most mind-bending puzzles you'll ever encounter.
The puzzles are meant to stimulate your reasoning and intellect. They also help the man with severe memory loss gradually awaken and find his way out. What makes them special is that they not only challenge your mind, but The White Door provides no clues or hints along the way. This keeps your mind sharper and more alert than ever.
