We spent a long time asking which element best represents Chinese culture: famous sayings, poetry, costumes, architecture, kung fu, or something else? In the end, we chose the Chinese dragon, the oldest and most widely recognized cultural totem. Our studio set out to create something distinctly Chinese, so our goal became building a different kind of Chinese dragon. That led us to the folk saying "the dragon has nine sons, each one different," and the nine distinct dragon images inspired our nine sub-bosses right away. For the game's visual style, we turned to another ancient element: bronze. Partly this reflects my own love of bronze, and partly it reflects how early totems evolved into bronze patterns. Using bronze felt like a natural way to express our "national treasure" theme. That is how "Tale of Fallen Dragons" came to be, and we hope you enjoy it.
————————————– Game Introduction Long ago, nine sons were born to the Legendary Dragon.
From birth, these untamed dragons ran wild and caused enormous destruction across the land. To put an end to the chaos, the descendants of the Five Elder Tribes united and cast a powerful sealing spell. The dragons were finally defeated and sealed beneath the Fallen Dragons Temple.
After several decades, the tales of the nine dragons faded from people's memories. Yet deep in the dungeon beneath the Fallen Dragons Temple, a new legend has just begun…
————————————– Game Features "Tale of Fallen Dragons" is a Roguelike game built around the theme of "the nine children of the dragon." Based on our usual design approach, we offer players "Three Pieces of Advice." Advice one: There are over two hundred kinds of strange items. Pick them up to see what they do, but don't rush in recklessly. Advice two: The temple maze is randomly generated every time, so memorizing the layout won't help you. Stay alert at all times. Advice three: Enemies must be defeated by repositioning yourself, not by mindless mowing. Proceed with caution!
Inspired by ancient Chinese mythology, featuring the bronze dragon's nine sons and a distinctly Chinese style!
