Description
Suika Game is a casual puzzle title from the studio Mini Fun Games, featuring straightforward rules, a cartoon visual style, and an unusual playing field made for experimentation. What kind of game is it, exactly? The developers describe the gameplay as an analogue of the board game "Watermelon," where balls of similar value (each marked with a digit on its side) merge together to form one that is several times bigger. The concept itself isn't new, but getting comfortable with how everything works is much trickier than it looks, and it's all too easy to slip up mid-run and land on the Game Over screen instead of a fresh high score…
Gameplay
Picking up the competitive mechanics in Suika Game isn't especially hard, since the developers patiently steer beginners toward new records, both during the tutorial and well into the second or even third hour of play. The guidance goes beyond simple visual hints, too: expanded statistics sometimes point out flawed or overly obvious moves that would otherwise keep you from setting any records anytime soon.
As for the leaderboard, points earned in each session are added to the ranking once the game ends, and from there they're compared against record holders worldwide and directly against your friends. In other words, it's no longer time to sit on the sidelines. It's time to jump into endless competitions, break your records, and turn thousands of balls into "Watermelons"!
Game features:
- Meditative gameplay: there's no rush in this Suika Ball Game puzzle. Neither timers nor strict rules have appeared so far, so nothing stops you from spending half an hour planning each move;
- Unlimited potential: right after you learn the available mechanics, reaching 100 to 200 points isn't easy, but within just a few hours everything changes, along with your records;
- Quality release: even without a mod, downloading Suika Game is well worth it. The unusual atmosphere and simple rules provide an immediate foundation for endless competitions with friends;
- Impressive optimization: even when 30 to 40 balls are on screen at once, the FPS doesn't drop, and smoothness holds up even in the most demanding scenes;
- Your own approach: the developers don't stop you from experimenting. For example, you can drop balls to either side or even assemble a "watermelon" on the fly by instantly combining pieces.
