Description
SSH Custom is a secure Android SSH client offering payloads, proxies, SNI, and advanced settings for private and flexible web browsing.
SSH Custom: A Secure and Private Browsing Tool
SSH Custom is a capable Android SSH client that lets you browse the web with stronger privacy and security. The app lets you set up several connection methods, including SSH, payloads, proxies, and SNI options. It also includes advanced features such as payload rotation and proxy switching, giving you more control over how your network traffic is handled.
Getting Started with SSH Custom Profiles
To start using SSH Custom, you'll need to create and manage connection profiles. Each profile stores your configuration details, so you can move between different connection types with ease.
To add a new profile, open the side menu, choose the “Profiles” option, and tap to create one. To edit an existing profile, double-tap it or press and hold until the edit menu appears. The same long-press gesture also lets you clone a profile or delete it when you no longer need it. This makes managing profiles quick, which is especially helpful if you often switch between setups.
Basic Profile Configuration Methods
SSH Custom supports several standard setups depending on what your connection requires. For a regular SSH configuration, you can leave the payload, proxy, and SNI fields empty. If you want to use SNI, set the SSH port to 443, leave the payload and proxy fields blank, and enter your SNI value.
For a payload-based connection, enter a payload and define a proxy without a URL scheme. For WebSocket (WS) profiles, you need to configure both a payload and a proxy, and you may include or omit “http://” in the proxy field. If you leave the proxy empty, set the bug host as the SSH host and use port 80.
For secure WebSocket (WSS), define a payload and use a proxy that begins with “https://”. If no proxy is set, configure the bug host as the SSH host, use port 443, and specify the SNI value.
SSH Custom also supports SOCKS proxy configurations. In this case, leave the payload empty and define a proxy that starts with either “socks4://” or “socks5://”.
Understanding Primary Initialization Parameters
SSH Custom provides a set of primary initialization variables that let you fine-tune connection requests. These parameters determine how a connection starts and how data moves through it.
For instance, you can use variables to specify request types, protocols, and connection endpoints such as the host, port, or IP address. Other options let you define proxy details and control end-of-line (EOL) behavior. The app even lets you set a custom user agent, which can be handy for mimicking browser requests or working around certain restrictions.
Advanced Secondary Initialization Options
Beyond the basic setup, SSH Custom offers advanced secondary initialization tools. These cover options for cycling through values and generating random elements within your configuration.
You can set rotation rules to cycle through several hosts or payloads, which boosts reliability and adaptability. Randomization features help build dynamic requests, enhancing privacy and making detection harder. You can also control how many line breaks (EOL) appear in your request by entering numeric values.
Limitations You Should Know
Although SSH Custom is feature-rich, it comes with several limitations you should weigh when configuring profiles. The app does not let you combine HTTP(S) proxies with SOCKS proxies in a single profile, and rotation or randomization is not supported for SOCKS proxies.
SNI usage has its own restriction. Normal SNI settings cannot be combined with custom payloads, WS, or WSS configurations, since SNI requires an empty payload. In addition, SSH Custom does not support nested secondary initialization, so you cannot place one rotation or random function inside another.
Recommended Solution for Complex Configurations
To get around these limitations, create multiple profiles rather than trying to merge every setting into one. Separating configurations across profiles keeps you flexible while avoiding compatibility conflicts. Each profile can then run optimally with no clashing settings, and you can switch between them whenever your needs change.
