Q: What is the best way to add a shortcut to my contact list on my smartphone?

A: Tap the plus icon on the main screen. The contact picker will open so you can choose a contact.

Q: Something isn't working and I don't know why. How do I fix it?

A: Get in touch using the Feedback option (in the Settings view) or the Contact Developer feature in the Android Market. I'll respond as quickly as I can. If you enjoy the app, please leave a rating.

Q: Which version should I choose?

A: The lite version offers the same features as the full version, but it has 12 shortcuts instead of the grouping function. It's completely ad-free! We recommend installing the lite version first to make sure it runs properly on your device.

Q: My contacts don't have photos. Can I still use SpeedDial?

A: Yes. SpeedDial is built around caller pictures, but if a contact has no photo, it will show the Android logo along with the name and contact details.

Q: Settings: What do the Shortcuts Group sliders control?

A: They set the maximum number of shortcuts that are visible. You can reduce a group's shortcut count to hide some of them; they will still work. Raise the count again to make them visible. If the count is set to 0, you won't be able to cycle through groups.

Q: How does the Short/Long-Click Action setting work?

A: If you've set up contact shortcuts, you can choose between two main actions: a quick tap or a long press. A short click calls the number linked to the shortcut. By default, a long press opens the context menu, which lets you do things like send a text message or view the contact's address on Google Maps. You can also remove or move shortcuts, and you can reassign both the short and long click actions to other functions. Keep in mind that if you change the "Long Click Action," the context menu will no longer be accessible. In that case, you can use "Actions" in the main menu instead.

Q: Which menu item is "Actions"?

A: It lets you quickly remove, rename, or replace a shortcut.

Q: What is the Media Scanner?

A: The built-in media scanner lets you scan files on your smartphone without unplugging the SD card. For example, you can use it if the latest pictures don't appear in your photo gallery.
