Description
Speech Assistant AAC offers a straightforward way to send text and attach audio, making it especially helpful for people whose medical conditions affect their ability to communicate.
Speech Assistant AAC is designed for people who have conditions that make communication difficult. Users type their messages, and the app speaks them aloud for the other person to hear. Over time, the app can also store words and phrases tied to specific situations, so users spend less time typing.
COMMUNICATE THROUGH TEXT EASILY
Speech Assistant AAC makes it simple to get your message across, wherever you happen to be. This is especially valuable for people living with aphasia, autism, and other conditions that affect communication. The app is also easy to pick up, and you can quickly add the words and phrases you use most often.
AN INTERFACE THAT'S EASY FOR MANY USERS
The first thing you'll notice in Speech Assistant AAC is how easy the interface is to use right from the start. It works in both portrait and landscape orientation, so you can type and communicate comfortably. Buttons along the side of the text area help you make the most of the app. Turn on the feature marked with the A and arrow icon when you're face to face with someone, and they'll be able to read what you're about to say.
ENTER TEXT AND ATTACH AUDIO WITH EASE
One feature users are sure to appreciate is how flexible text entry is. You can tap words from a list and combine them into meaningful sentences, which the app reads aloud as soon as they form a complete thought, or you can tap the speaker icon to hear them. If the phrase you need isn't already in your device's library, you're free to type it yourself.
ORGANIZE TEXT INTO CATEGORIES
Speech Assistant AAC comes with a rich set of phrases, and your collection grows as you add more. Use the add button at the bottom of the phrase list to save new entries. On the right side, you'll find categories grouped by context, so you can quickly locate the phrases you use most. Saving frequently used text means you no longer have to retype it every time.
CUSTOMIZE TEXT AND CATEGORIES
You can tailor many parts of Speech Assistant AAC to suit your needs. Rearrange phrases within each category to make them easier to find or to follow your preferred order. You can also add, edit, or delete categories, removing any you no longer need.
CHOOSE A DIFFERENT APP VOICE
The app's text-to-speech sounds may remind you of Google's voices. If that's not to your liking, open the settings, download a different voice, and switch to the one that suits you best.
