Gameplay

Four players take part in this card game, which uses a standard 52-card deck. At the start, the whole deck is dealt among the players. After checking their hands, each player must announce how many tricks they plan to win in the round.

Within each suit, cards are ranked from weakest, the 2, up to the strongest, the Ace.

Spades always serves as the trump suit, so any spade will beat a card from any other suit. The aim is for a player or team to win exactly the number of tricks they declared.

These bids are placed before play starts. Once all 13 tricks have been played, the results are counted. Every trick won is worth 10 points. For instance, if you bid 5 tricks before the game and succeed, you earn 50 points.

If you win fewer tricks than you bid, you lose a penalty equal to the number of tricks you fell short by.

Each extra trick beyond your bid earns you one additional point. The game finishes when a player reaches 60 points.
