Description
Many phone users have run into serious trouble after losing their phone or personal data. That is why SyncTech Pty Ltd released SMS Backup & Restore Pro, which backs up your text messages and call logs. It can also restore messages and call logs from existing backups, which is a big help when you need to dig up important information from old conversations quickly and easily.
SPECIAL BUGFIX IN THE PREMIUM VERSION
Users of the free version often ran into errors when uploading to WebDAV. The developers have fixed those bugs in this version, so downloading your backups is a smoother experience. Messages and call logs are also stored in the cloud rather than on your phone, which means they won't take up storage space on your device.
SMS Backup & Restore Pro can save all your messages to your email account, Dropbox, or Google Drive, so you can retrieve any information more easily, even after the messages have been deleted from your device. The premium version is completely ad-free, so nothing interrupts you during the backup process. Keep in mind that the app can only restore call logs and messages when a backup already exists.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES NOT IN THE FREE APP
Pay once and use the app for as long as you like, with premium-only features included. These include backup compression and encryption, which reduce storage usage, keep your important information secure, and lower the risks involved in backing up.
SMS Backup & Restore Pro also supports WebDAV as a backup destination. WebDAV is an extension of the HTTP protocol, which makes it simple to access, edit, and manage your saved data on a remote server. The tool is highly secure, as it encrypts data both during transmission and while stored, and it integrates tightly with web services.
OTHER FEATURES THE APP OFFERS
SMS, MMS, and call logs are all backed up by SMS Backup & Restore Pro in XML format, so your data is easy to read and analyze on virtually any device. The app also creates local backups and can automatically upload them to Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. These options let you keep your information for longer, with more peace of mind, while freeing up device memory. You can schedule automatic backups of your messages and calls, for example once a month to Google Drive, so you don't have to do it manually.
The app doesn't back up or restore every call and message by default. You choose the important conversations you want, and the app handles the rest. Backups can be stored in cloud storage or on WebDAV. Because the backup format doesn't depend on your Android version, you can restore or transfer backups to another phone with ease. The app can also transfer backups between two phones quickly over a direct Wi-Fi connection.
ACCESS PERMISSIONS AND IMPORTANT NOTES
The app has been tested on Android 5.0 and above and runs smoothly. SMS Backup & Restore Pro can only restore backups created by this app, so make sure you have a backup stored off the phone before performing a factory reset.
The app needs access to your messages and will request the SMS permissions required to handle incoming messages properly. You also need to allow access to your calls and contacts so it can back up and restore them. Contact names are stored in the backup file, so you will need to provide the relevant permissions for them to be displayed. Keep your phone awake while backup and restore operations are running so they aren't interrupted.
SMS Backup & Restore Pro backs up your messages and call logs to cloud storage, making it easy to find information without using up device memory. It is an effective tool when you face the risk of losing personal data, and it can encrypt your backups to keep your important information secure.
