Lost in the castle of the God of Death

Built around just three eerie colors (white, black, and red), Silent Citadel creates a chilling atmosphere from the very first screen. The story follows you and your adventurous friends who, driven by curiosity, became lost in a strange, dark castle during a storm.

You and your team have been separated. You and the other members can no longer communicate or find any trace of one another. You must find a way to survive this castle on your own, without any companions to help you.

As you wander, you soon realize that the castle is the home of the God of Death. Each day they roam the world harvesting the souls of the dead, and each night they gather here to rest and prepare for the next day's harvest. Anyone who comes face to face with Death has no way back and pays with their life, and you are no exception.

To escape this mysterious castle, you must do everything you can to defend yourself. Avoid encountering Death where possible, and once discovered, withstand every wave of their attacks. This is how the defensive battle in Silent Citadel begins.

Find an empty room and start defending

Each night, as soon as the city gate locks, your task in Silent Citadel is to find an empty room. Claim a bed there, harness the room's full power, and build a clever defense system.

This system is what will drive away the Death creatures approaching you. For details on how to build it, keep reading.

Control your character to build defense towers

A single touch and a swipe of one finger is all it takes to fully control your character and start constructing your defenses.

Use bricks to build a turret, a hammer to create a reaper, and metal to reinforce the door leading into your room. When Death appears, the door is your first layer of protection. If they get past it, they must face the powerful reaper and turret you have just built. With several layers of defense in place, you have a better chance of staying safe through the night.

Defenses must be upgraded constantly

While you focus on building your defenses, Death holds back. But the following night, they return in greater numbers. To withstand them, you must keep searching the room for resources and work hard to upgrade each of your defenses. This balanced system gives you a fair chance of survival, helping you reach the end of the game and find time to plan your escape from the castle.

Buy more rooms for greater defensive power

Each night you survive, the game rewards you with gold coins. Use this gold to unlock the next empty room. Every room offers a fresh supply of resources, items, and tools so you can keep building new defensive strongholds.

Unlock more rooms, defense tactics, and survival methods. Your survival skills grow along the way, even as the Death outside grow stronger and more numerous.

Play as the victim or the Reaper

Beyond the story mode, which follows the survival and defense situation described above, Silent Citadel offers several other game modes so players can enjoy it their own way. Most notably, the Grim Reaper mode lets you become a fearsome Grim Reaper yourself. Instead of hiding and defending against Death every night, you now turn the tables and become the hunter of human souls.

Find ways to counter the defensive strategies of the adventurers sneaking into the castle, and foil all their clever plans. Harvest as many souls as possible to become the most sinister Grim Reaper in the castle. With enough courage, you can destroy everyone who has become lost in this place.
