Unbound by any fixed task or destiny, you can pick quests as your heart desires while exploring villages, forests, and dungeons. You might end up with a darker reputation. Let's put all that freedom to use, even if you're not sure what to do with it at first.

FREEDOM COMES WITH RESPONSIBILITY

The game features a distinctive system where stamina drains each time you walk across a vast field or choose a command in battle. Stamina recovers over time when you rest in a "break." Plenty of quests are available, and antisocial "dark work" is an option too. But if you commit too many misdeeds, the city will fall into ruin, thugs will show up in town, or guards will come hunting for you.

GAME FLOW

• You can rest or recover using the time you leave idle. Without stamina, you can't do anything.
• Since stamina drains quickly, try making good use of the "prayer" option that's available in large numbers from the start.
• Each party member eats food, so stock up on plenty of it.
• Also, if you befriend a character with a new job, you can switch jobs to that character in battle! Catch Cobolt and give him a small amount of money.
• Recruiting friends makes the early quests an easy win! Keep in mind, though, that it costs money.
• Go ahead and roam the vast city. You're free to head anywhere: north, south, east, or west.
• Since moving drains stamina, the smart approach is to gather what you need from the surrounding neighborhood.
• To start, we received an order for information gathering and a quest at an inn where travelers gather.
• Note that once you decline a quest, you can't receive it again. Your reputation matters.
