Description
Rain World is an indie platformer and survival simulation created by Videocult, a small independent studio that spent more than six years developing it. The game came out in 2017, first arriving on PlayStation 4 and Windows in March 2017 through Adult Swim Games, which published it in English. It reached the Nintendo Switch in late 2018. Players guide a creature that is part cat and part slug as it searches for its family across a desolate, ruined world.
Playing as this "Slug Cat," you scavenge debris and turn it into weapons, hunt for food, and make your way to shelter before a lethal downpour arrives. The game offers only minimal instruction on how to get by. The developers chose this on purpose, comparing the experience to a rat surviving in subway tunnels, where you have to learn how to endure a hostile environment through trial and error.
