This app lets you turn your screen off and on with a simple swipe. Just pass your hand over the proximity sensor, which sits near the earpiece at the top of the phone.

Features: • Three ways to turn the screen off: Timeout Based, Root Screen Off with fingerprint sensor support, and the traditional DeviceAdmin screen off. • Works on tablets that only have a Light Sensor (set the sensor sensitivity to low for best results). • Tasker integration with quick toggle to start and stop the service. • Schedule the service to start and stop automatically, helping you save battery power overnight. • Pocket, Flip, or Smart Cover Mode: the screen turns off when the sensor is covered and back on when it is uncovered (a feature requested by Galaxy Note users). • Turn the screen on and off with these gestures: 1) Swipe Once, 2) Swipe Twice, 3) Swipe and Hold, 4) Hold and Swipe, and 5) Cover and Hold. • Ignore Apps list: add the apps or games where you want the service disabled. • Widget to start and stop the service. • ScreenOff shortcut to turn off the screen by launching the app. • Sensor Configuration: choose the sensor that suits your device or whichever one is available, then adjust its values, since they vary from device to device. • Enable screen on and off during calls only. • Disable call handling completely. • Battery Saving options: 1) Deactivate sensors after a timeout, 2) Deactivate sensors when the power button is pressed or the phone goes idle. • Override the power button and screen-on triggered by other apps (if the phone is in your pocket and you get a call or accidentally press the power button, the screen stays off). • Prevent accidental screen on. • Prevent accidental lock: in Swipe to Screen Off mode, the screen will not turn off if the sensor stays covered longer than the set duration. • Vibration on screen on and off.

NOTE: • This app uses the Device Administrator permission, which is required to turn the screen on and off. • The app needs SD card read and write permissions for debug logging. • If the app works with your hand but not with a flip cover, try a) enabling No-Recognize Delay and adding a delay of about 4 to 5 seconds, or b) placing a white piece of paper over the cover where the sensor is located, which can help with detection.

• If gestures or other settings (such as lock screen) stop working, clear the app data by going to Settings, then Application Manager, then Proximity Screen Off Pro, then Clear Data.

• The default timeout after screen on is the system display timeout. This can be overridden by the "Avoid screen flickering" option.

• To remove or uninstall the app, open Proximity Screen Off Pro and tap the Uninstall button. You can also go to System Settings, then "Locations & Security" (or just "Security"), select Device Administrators, and disable the ScreenOff app.

• The app needs Device Administrator privilege to lock the screen. If you have questions about the permissions the app uses, email the developer and they will explain why each one is needed.

• To enable screen lock, use the "Locks phone on screenOn" option under "All settings".
