After years of teaching Korean to international students, I noticed that many of them were turning to an app to study the language.
That's why I built an app to strengthen Korean language skills, drawing on my long experience as a Korean teacher.
Even though I lacked the technical background needed to build an app, I managed to pick up coding from Dave, an American programmer.
We have now launched the "podo" app.

1. LESSONS
We want to learn Korean, and that involves far more than just picking up vocabulary. Rather than trying to memorize hundreds of words, concentrate on a smaller set that you will actually use every day.
The "podo" lessons are designed to cover as many useful words as possible while using as few words as most people actually need.
2. READING
Learners with basic Korean skills can read with confidence. Articles in books and online, however, are often hard to follow, and that can wear down your confidence.
Only Korean-speaking readers can fully enjoy "podo" content. I wrote engaging pieces about Korea using simple words and expressions. You can also practice speaking by listening to native speakers read them aloud.
3. WRITING
Many learners, even advanced ones, struggle with writing in Korean. Language exchange websites and apps can offer corrections, but those are not always accurate. Understanding why a correction is needed can also be difficult.
In the "podo" writing section, you can get feedback and clear corrections from experienced Korean teachers.
4. COLLECTIONS
Work through "podo" readings and lessons. You can quickly gather the vocabulary you need to grow your word bank, then review those collections with flashcards.
Some programming issues may occasionally come up, since I am not a professional programmer.
