OBD2 Auto Scanner Olivia Drive is an on-board computer for cars that work with the OBD-II interface and the SAE J1979 standard. It can display the following parameters:

1) Instantaneous flow per hour and per 100 km; 2) Car consumption per 100 km; 3) Fuel spent per trip; 4) Distance per trip; 5) Engine speed; 6) Vehicle speed; 7) Engine temperature; 8) On-board network voltage; 9) Average speed; 10) And much more.

Not every car with a 16-pin diagnostic connector meets OBD2, EOBD or JOBD requirements or supports communication with diagnostic scanners using standard protocols.

The OBD-II standard was made legally mandatory in the USA in 1996, while EOBD became mandatory in EU countries in 2001 for gasoline cars and in 2003 for diesel cars. JOBD was introduced in Japan in 2003.

From those dates on, any car produced or imported into these countries must comply with the standard and be maintained accordingly.

Rules: If a car was made for the American market in 1996 or later, it must meet OBD2 requirements. If a car was made for the European market in 2001 or later, it must meet EOBD requirements.

This app works as an on-board computer for cars using the OBD-II interface and the SAE J1979 standard. It can display the following parameters: 1) Instantaneous flow per hour and instantaneous consumption per 100 km; 2) Car consumption per 100 km; 3) Fuel spent per trip; 4) Distance per trip; 5) Engine speed; 6) Vehicle speed; 7) Engine temperature; 8) On-board network voltage; 9) Average speed; 10) And much more.

The app includes a trip log with export, dynamic parameter graphs with multiple selection (around 100 standard OBD-II sensors), reading and clearing of fault codes with decoding of 5000 error codes, an acceleration test, HUD mode, and a floating widget on top of the screen that displays data over any other apps.

Key advantages of this app: 1) It can run as a background service and be minimized during use, so you can answer a call or switch to another app; 2) Flow correction through long-term and short-term corrections from the vehicle ECU (MAF only); 3) Methods for detecting engine braking (fuel supply cut off); 4) A group request mode that updates data up to 8 times per second in on-board computer mode; 5) Error decoding in English; 6) High communication speed with the vehicle ECU, up to 20 reads per second for a single parameter; 7) Calculation of the engine load; 8) A floating window when the app is minimized; 9) Notifications when parameters go out of range.

ATTENTION!!!

When using the app, you must complete at least four steps:

1) Pair your ELM327 adapter (Bluetooth or WiFi) with your Android device, then select it in the Olivia Drive settings. 2) Enter your car’s engine displacement; the default is 1598 cm3. 3) Choose your car’s fuel type: Petrol, Diesel or Gas. 4) DO NOT enable “ENGINE BRAKE DETECTION” unless you know how to configure it, otherwise FUEL CONSUMPTION WILL NOT BE DISPLAYED!
