NieR: Automata is one of the most recognizable Japanese games, one that pushes players to reflect on the meaning of life and even gives them a peek under the main character's skirt. Fans have put together an unofficial port of NieR: Automata, and while it comes with some flaws, it stays faithful to the original. In the first mission, for example, we pilot a mech and fight off enemies in a shoot 'em up style, then face a huge boss from a third-person view. The game is missing some content, so transitions between missions feel rough, and the Chinese-language interface can make it hard to follow what's going on. The first boss is also very easy, and dying is extremely hard. Animations are still lacking, and some buttons apparently do nothing. On the plus side, you can enjoy the stunning visuals of the 2B character and a soundtrack lifted straight from the original version. We can only confirm the presence of 3 levels.
