Neku, also called Neku: OC Character Creator, is an app that lets you design your very own virtual character. Developed by Sticker Maker, it has been downloaded many times and has earned a large number of positive reviews from users. With a huge library of models and varied fashion items, you can bring your own ideas to life.

Introducing Neku

Neku is an app that makes it easy for users to create striking images of their own. It's a character or avatar design tool built for your social media presence. Neku, also known as Neku: OC Character Creator, is available on Google Play and on Apkmod.app.

Neku, a place to unleash your creativity

If you love cartoon-style drawings, this Neku app is made for you. It comes with plenty of ready-made designs called Templates, and your main task is simply to choose the pieces you like best to build the perfect picture. Your character can be male or female, depending on your preference. Every facial feature, accessory, and outfit can be adjusted to suit your taste.

From what I've seen, Neku offers more than 3,000 different Templates, created by both the developers and the community. You can use what others have made or design brand-new Templates of your own. Each picture doesn't have a strict character limit, so you can place one, two, or even three characters in the same frame and style them however you like.

Features

In my view, Neku has a clean and straightforward interface that is easy to get the hang of. Templates are sorted into clearly labeled sections, so even a beginner can navigate with ease. The home page highlights newly released Templates and finished artwork, along with trending items and your favorite avatars.

The Template categories are also neatly organized by theme, including New Arrivals, Daily Top, Christmas, Halloween, Trending, Side View, Handsome, and more. This gives you a good sense of the variety on offer, and sample images help you see what's possible. Without this guidance, choosing a starting point could be tricky, especially for a beginner.

Neku also includes a PK system, a competitive mode where you go head-to-head with other players by designing cartoon characters around a specific theme. Opponents and topics are picked at random, and themes might include parties, camping, beaches, or offices. For each topic, you choose the right makeup, hairstyle, outfit, and accessories. Entries that earn high ratings from the audience win the round.

Collect Stars

Neku also has a mission system in its Daily Missions section that rewards you for completing tasks and gathering more stars. The more stars you collect, the easier it becomes to unlock other services within Neku. Your personal page keeps the images and Templates you have created, and you can also revisit the pictures you previously liked.

Some points to note

After spending some time with Neku, I noticed a few things worth keeping in mind:

The first is advertising. This can be a major issue in both apps and games. Free downloads usually mean you'll have to sit through ads, which is how developers recover their costs. Still, I believe the number of ads should be kept at a reasonable level. In Neku, ads appear no matter which feature you use. Even claiming achievement rewards requires watching an ad, and sometimes ads pop up when you simply switch pages. Personally, I found this quite frustrating.

Although Neku lets users publish their own Templates in a kind of mini social network, there is no built-in comment or praise feature. I've come across some Templates that weren't very polished, yet there was no easy way to give the creators feedback to help them improve.

In short, Neku, also known as Neku: OC Character Creator, remains a great place to create freely. It has a few minor limitations, but I don't think they will dampen your enthusiasm much. What are you waiting for? Dive into the world of drawing and create a cartoon character that everyone will love.
