The Story

MementoMori follows a young girl who, at the age of six, discovered she had a special gift: the magic of a witch. As the years went by, she continued to struggle with this power and had yet to learn how to control it.

Meanwhile, the world itself was changing. A series of strange events and constant calamities gradually turned people against witches. Many came to believe that witches, wielding dark magic, were behind the disasters. Witches were seen as cruel, shunned, and cast out from the communities they once belonged to. At the head of this anti-witch movement stands the Church.

In the land where our heroine was born and raised, the Church of Longinus carries out a relentless witch hunt, determined to wipe out every remaining witch, whether or not they had caused any harm. Countless witches were hanged, burned at the stake, or stoned to death.

Fear spread through the population, and neighbors began to suspect one another of witchcraft. Arguments, lawsuits, and accusations filled the streets, and mysterious deaths occurred with no explanation. Suspicion and death were everywhere. Our young heroine was also hunted and doubted, and she endured many perilous escapes.

Even as countless witches were slaughtered, the disasters did not subside; instead, the danger only grew. No one realizes that the very witches they are trying to destroy may be the only ones capable of saving the world.
