MAME4droid is an arcade machine emulator for Android. A fresh update adds support for Android 13. If your smartphone or tablet runs Android 11 or newer, you can now store and load ROM files from an external memory card. Better still, MAME4droid lets you keep your game saves in the same folder as the ROM files. The developers also squashed several bugs.
The developers point out that the game files are not bundled with the app itself, and it supports more than 8,000 ROMs. That said, don't expect even flagship devices to run every arcade title from the 1990s at full speed or with perfect compatibility. The library is simply too vast for every game to be maintained to that standard.
How to install
- Download the APK file above to your phone.
- Allow “Install unknown apps” when prompted.
- Open the downloaded APK and tap Install.
- If the package includes OBB/XAPK data, follow the bundled instructions.
