Lucy -The Eternity She Wished For- is a game about an android built to be a companion for a lonely protagonist who is eager to experience everything life has to offer. The project, however, ended up discarded after a malfunction, and the root of the problem was that engineers never fully managed to control how the robot behaved. The prototype shipped with too few restrictions, and over time it seemed to evolve on its own, as if something unexpected happened on the production line and sparked a form of artificial intelligence. Every model has its own quirks, but this young android has no real limits.
She no longer follows her programmed routines. Instead, she tries to expand her understanding by studying the world around her. The hero ends up with a companion who offers him pleasant company without giving much thought to moral principles. The real question is whether she would even agree to such an arrangement, since her body has no sensory receptors, which makes intimacy a puzzling concept for her. She also lacks any sense of love, so the best we can hope for is that the boy recognizes his mistake and stops seeing the robot as a real person.
