In the game, your units take turns attacking while trying to block incoming enemy strikes. Once you build up enough mana, you can unleash a special skill unique to each fighter.
These skills depend entirely on the character's class, which can be archers, mages, or warriors.
When you face a sufficiently powerful enemy, you will run into its special abilities, and dealing with them will call for a careful, attentive approach.
The game has almost no storyline, so it mainly relies on the simple thrill of defeating enemies to keep players engaged. In most cases, though, players don't need any extra incentive beyond that.
The locations, meanwhile, are fairly standard for this genre.
You can battle enemies in forests swarming with dangerous beasts, explore dungeons with constantly flowing lava, investigate tombs patrolled by the walking dead, and listen to eerie otherworldly voices. The highly detailed characters and environmental elements are also worth noticing.
