Description

Leaf Spy Pro gives Nissan Leaf owners the power to monitor their battery and other vehicle information, data normally visible only to dealer technicians. All they need is an Android device with Bluetooth and a compatible ELM327 OBDII Bluetooth adapter.

After a recent cost cutting (and feature cutting) round, many of the budget ELM327 OBDII Bluetooth adapters from Asia no longer work with the Leaf and identify themselves as version 2.1. The Bluetooth Konnwei KW902 OBDII adapter, which was previously recommended, is no longer advised either, since a batch of faulty units has reached the market. These faulty units can effectively short out your Leaf's CAN bus (or any CAN bus they are plugged into), though they do not appear to cause lasting damage once removed.

With version 0.39.97, LeafSpy Pro added support for two Bluetooth 4.x LE approved adapters. The preferred option is the LELink, available from Amazon. Bluetooth 4.x LE offers the benefits of not requiring pairing and drawing less power from both the Android device and the Leaf. The LELink is strongly recommended and also works with the iOS version of LeafSpy Pro.
