When the game begins, Mr. Kim stands in the middle of the screen, with two officers on either side gripping the ends of a rope and turning it. Your job is straightforward: tap anywhere on the screen to make Mr. Kim leap. The length of your tap determines how high he jumps. Timing is everything, since you must keep him from getting tangled in the rope. A single mistake ends the run instantly, and you'll need to try again from the beginning.

Every time Kim touches down, he sends out a shockwave that damages the structures behind him. Once a structure takes enough damage, it collapses. Destroying buildings rewards you with Koin, points, and achievement progress. Koin is the sole currency in Jumping Kim and a key driver of progression. You can collect it through play, by watching ads, or by buying Koin packs with real money. Spent on unlocks and upgrades, Koin makes your later runs far more effective.

Keep in mind that Mr. Kim can only jump after his feet have landed on the ground. Landing at the wrong moment can snag the rope on his feet, and jumping at the wrong moment can catch it on his head. Also watch the symbols that drop onto the officers' heads. When they appear, they can alter the rope's swing speed, throwing off your timing.

Core upgrades: Stomp and Combo

Stomp and Combo are two essential upgrades that shape how Jumping Kim plays. Neither is available at the start, so you'll need to spend Koin to unlock them. Once unlocked, they stay with you permanently.

As its name suggests, Stomp slams Kim hard into the ground, dealing heavy damage to structures behind him. To activate it, tap the screen while Kim is airborne. Because the slam brings him down very quickly, a well-timed stomp can also help you avoid having the rope catch on his head.

With some practice, you can even jump and stomp twice during a single swing of the rope, even without any other upgrades. Be careful, though: stomping directly onto the rope will still tangle Mr. Kim and end the game as usual. Once unlocked, you can keep spending Koin to upgrade Stomp, making it stronger and more powerful.

Combo is an especially interesting upgrade. Each successful stomp earns one combo point, and every 5 combo points increase the damage of Kim's next stomp. The value of combos grows as the run goes on. In buildings numbered 10 and up, the combo damage multiplier becomes vital for taking them down with ease. Like other upgrades, Combo can be improved with Koin to boost its damage multiplier even further.

Supply upgrades in Jumping Kim

Each time a building falls, a helicopter arrives carrying a supply upgrade. Wait for it to reach Mr. Kim, then jump high to grab a random supply upgrade. These are powerful and entertaining. For example, the Machine Gun summons two machine guns that scare off the two officers, letting Mr. Kim jump freely without the rope for a short time. Jumping Kim features 8 supply upgrades in total, so dive in and discover the developers' offbeat creativity.
