Classic Tetris is a timeless puzzle game created by Alexey Leonidovich Pajitnov in 1984, and it has since become a true legend of the genre.

Your task is to fit different shapes onto the playing field so that a solid horizontal line is completed. Once a line is filled, its blocks disappear automatically, freeing up room for the shapes that follow.

Gameplay

The game has no fixed end, so you compete against your own best score and try to beat it every time you play. It is an excellent way to sharpen logical thinking and to quickly solve spatial puzzles. You lose when a placed shape stacks past the top of the field, meaning the blocks rise beyond the 20th row and can no longer be cleared.

Each horizontal row is 10 cells wide. Fill every cell in a row and it clears automatically, letting you keep placing shapes. The game features six shape types that you cannot alter, but you can rotate them to fit the gaps the way you need. You also get a preview of the next shape out of the six, so you can plan your moves ahead.
