Hunter Rush is a side-scrolling action game with retro-style graphics and a fantasy setting and storyline. Rifts have opened beneath one region of the kingdom, and monsters and demons are steadily pouring up to the surface, with the flow growing stronger every day. Your job is to recruit characters, build teams, assign each member a role and an order of actions, and then send them out on raids. Begin by choosing a character from several classes: humans, mages, rogues, warriors, and elves. Each class has its own strengths and a distinct set of skills and abilities. As you move through locations, your character advances automatically and unleashes powerful strikes on enemies. Your role is mainly to watch the action and activate ability cards, which recharge within a few seconds. You can also cast a range of spells, including fireballs, icy chill, earthquake, and whirlwind.

Between endless journeys, you can upgrade your heroes and recruit new characters. They will join the main character in exploring dark locations, facing monsters, and battling bosses. The game features plenty of bosses, and some will not fall on your first attempt, so you may need to spend coins on leveling up and unlocking new skills.
