Heroes 2 : The Undead King is a charming strategy game with a classic feel, reminiscent of a well-known series of old-school titles. You play as a brave knight sent out to recover an ancient artifact. Only he can halt the Undead King, who is plotting to conquer the world. There is no time to waste, as the warrior faces difficult trials and serious obstacles along the way, so any help from players will be greatly appreciated.

A freshly hand-drawn world awaits you, one you must traverse while facing a wide variety of enemies and devising unusual tactical solutions. Compared to the first game, this sequel doesn't offer upgraded graphics or animation, but the selection of heroes and locations has grown considerably, adding more depth to the experience.
Gameplay can be broadly split into two parts. First, you explore each location and search for chests filled with treasure. Then you hire heroes to fight alongside you, recruiting them in villages, castles and peasant fields. The choice is wide: you'll find common archers, Vikings and pitchfork-wielding peasants, as well as orcs, wizards and elves. Keep in mind that every character costs a set amount of gold coins, so choose wisely and don't spend your currency carelessly.
Turn-based battles make up the second and more engaging side of the gameplay. In most cases, the result of a battle depends on the number and strength of the heroes you have recruited. Zombies, mummies, mutants, dark elves and evil wizards will stand in your path. Move your heroes across the battlefield, pick the best positions and land crushing blows on your enemies to claim victory after victory.
