About the main character setup
Every character you control in the game comes with fairly detailed information, giving you a clear picture of the person you're about to accompany.
You'll first see the Name, Level, Distance and Might points. Beneath them is a set of "technical parameters" covering abilities such as Strength, Instinct, IQ and Will. From this data, you can already get a sense of each character's strengths, weaknesses and traits, and form early ideas about how to build and develop them over time.
A nuclear disaster splits the world apart
People have imagined all sorts of post-apocalyptic scenarios, but the real causes are often the most ordinary ones.
In Heatways: Post Nuclear, a chain of natural disasters rocks the nuclear reactors of the world's major powers. They begin to leak or suddenly explode, unleashing a terrible cloud of radioactive gas into the environment. From that point, the world falls into the most chaotic and bleakest era it has ever known. Nearly the entire population is wiped out, and only a small number of people with exceptional resilience manage to hold on.
The game follows the struggle of these few survivors. Cruel fate keeps them alive, yet living can sometimes feel a hundred times more exhausting than dying.
Survival grows harder amid countless hardships
Staying alive in Heatways: Post Nuclear is no simple task. It is even tougher and more demanding than many similar games you may have played.
The outside world is a land of mourning, decaying from within, with nothing left to restore. Melted asphalt, quicksand, spreading deserts, scorched swamps and entire rivers choked with toxic chlorides stretch across the map. Even the once-proud highways of humanity are buried beneath shallow seas of gasoline that can ignite from the smallest spark.
In such a harsh setting, you'll need to wear a mask at all times, move slowly and carefully through varied areas, and search for food, water and a safe shelter. Even these basics already make life feel incredibly hard.
Threats from mutant plants and animals
The environment is bleak, but the danger doesn't end there. While you can partly avoid hostile surroundings by crafting protective gear and shelter, the ferocious threats from mutated creatures are another matter. Even if you want to run, sometimes there's simply no escape.
Serious radiation leaks have overrun the land with terrifying mutant plants and animals. Some surviving humans and once-harmless laboratory animals have also been twisted into monstrous beings that hunt and attack every survivor, including you.
Every detail matters
Heatways: Post Nuclear is a genuine animated story, built on strong ideas and bold, distinctive imagery. You'll meet many unique characters and face enemies in fierce hand-to-hand combat.
You'll also need to learn how to survive in harsh environments. The game doubles as a journey through lands that were severely devastated by past events.
Along the way, whoever you meet, whatever you do, and however you speak or fight can become an important detail that shapes how the story unfolds.
Unlock new missions, situations and characters
Each time you complete a mission or actively interact with another character, you earn experience points. The more dangerous and challenging the activity, the more experience you gain.
For instance, if you meet a mutated zombie and simply run away without looking back, you'll likely earn zero or very few points. But if you fight back using shooting, bombing and headshot skills, you'll collect plenty of bonus points.
