The developers first aimed to deliver a mobile project that would recreate every feature of the classic PC game. In the end, though, the app came out fairly rough, showing only a few changes from the original Gothic.

At the start, the team hoped to release an impressive project that would fully match the PC version of Gothic 2. Still, development dragged on for a long time. The first beta arrived in 2016, but its quality was quite average.

It certainly could not be considered a success, yet it ran reasonably stable. However, players lost interest in such a rough app very quickly.

For that reason, a new project came out in 2018, built on a remake of the engine used to create the first Gothic game.

This port is far better than its predecessor, though it still lags behind the PC version in many ways. For instance, the app bundles a demo of Gothic 1, which has to be downloaded separately. If you want, the complete first Gothic game can also be loaded inside the app, although there is little real reason to do that.

Gameplay features

The new Gothic 2 app divides the screen into four sections. The upper left section handles actions, while the right side gives access to the menu.

The lower left area displays the character's movement, and the right area lets you adjust the camera. 26 16 Jan Additional information:
