Goon Squad® is an exciting strategy game from Atari built around head-to-head PvP battles on single-screen arena maps. Two players face each other, each commanding an identical half of the battlefield. Success comes down to tactics and knowing exactly when to attack or send a unit onto the field. The look and feel draw inspiration from 1930s Chicago, with gangsters, mobs, turf wars and plenty of drama. You'll start as a small-time boss and work your way up to the rank of Godfather. Don't expect it to be easy, though, because your rivals will do everything they can to stop you.

Here you'll build your own unique card deck and take on hundreds of thousands of real players across prepared arenas. Forget wizards, magicians, archers and warriors swinging swords. Instead, expect full-blown mob shootouts featuring pistols, shotguns and grenades.

When it comes to mechanics, the game closely follows the popular strategy title Clash Royale. You still build a deck and try to destroy enemy buildings before time runs out. Before every battle, fine-tune your deck to create a well-balanced lineup that can hit both ground and air targets. For example, one character swings a bat, has a large health pool and can handle everything except flying units. The Bulldozer charges straight ahead, damaging every enemy it meets, but it can only target buildings. Among the spells, the Rocket Barrage stands out, since it deals massive damage to several targets at once.

Winning battles earns experience points, which unlock new leagues, cards and better rewards. The more cards you collect, the more deck combinations you can experiment with.
