Skip the upgrades and the crowd will quickly overwhelm you. Special abilities and weapons can turn the tide of any round, whether you're going melee or reaching for a firearm. Agile moves, well-timed combos, backup from allies or pets, and deadly gadgets you discover along the way all boost your chances of survival.

Gangster Squad – Origins is a lively 2D action game that throws you into street fights in one of the world's most crime-ridden cities. Pick one of five characters and dive into battles against hordes of enemies, reacting fast as they surge in from both sides of the screen.

The game is split into stages, and each stage breaks down into levels where you must clear one wave of enemies after another. Your fighter relies on fists, feet, and weapons to get the job done. Depending on the hero you choose and your preferred combat style, those weapons can be melee or firearms.

Out on the city streets, quickly tap the left or right side of the screen to strike incoming foes. Your character isn't invincible, so don't let enemies land hits and respond in time. Each new wave brings tougher, stronger opponents, which means tapping faster and switching between available characters whenever you can. Leveling up lets you pick one of three buffs, such as a higher critical damage chance, health recovery, or a new weapon. When you fall, you return to the main menu, where you can spend your earnings on new heroes, stat upgrades, and useful items and equipment.
