Description

Read and write to any folder, including sdcard, on your Android device using this Pro FTP server. You can back up your photos to your PC, transfer music and movies to your device, and more.

If you don't have an FTP client yet, I recommend the FileZilla client (available at http://filezilla-project.org/), though you can also use File Explorer on Windows.

The free version does not support landscape mode.

Use any network interface on your device, including Wi-Fi, Ethernet, mobile network, USB, and more. Anonymous user access (can be disabled). One FTP user (can be disabled). Username and password can be changed. The home directory can be set to the root directory, with optional read-only mode. Passive and active modes. Show hidden files. Custom home folder. How to connect to the FTP server using a USB cable:

This is useful when you have a USB cable but no network connection is available. 1) On your phone, go to Settings > Applications > Development and enable the "USB debugging" option. 2) Connect your phone to your PC with a USB cable. 3) Start the ADB server. On your PC, run the command "adb start-server". ADB is a tool included in the Android SDK and is usually found in android-sdk/platform-tools/adb. 4) Forward the required ports from your PC to your phone. On your PC, run the command "adb forward tcp:2221 tcp:2221". You will need to repeat this step for the FTP server port and all passive ports configured on your phone, so using a small range of passive ports will make this easier. Once set up, any connection on your PC to 127.0.0.1:2221 will be forwarded to port 2221 on your phone. 5) Launch the FTP server on your phone, open its settings, and under "Network interfaces" select "Loopback (127.0.0.1)" or "All". 6) Start the FTP server. 7) On your PC, connect your FTP client to ftp://127.0.0.1:2221 (the port may differ depending on your FTP server configuration).

Connections in this mode must always be initiated from the PC, so only passive mode is available when using a USB connection.

Permissions needed:

INTERNET ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE ACCESS_WIFI_STATE

Network permissions allow the server to open network communication with FTP clients.

WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

Allows the FTP server to save incoming files from connected clients directly onto your SD card.

WAKE_LOCK

Ensures your device stays active while the server is operational. Without this, the device might sleep, causing FTP connections to drop.
