Description
Floating Sandbox is an experimental sandbox game from the Hajixsoof Dev studio that mixes in a 2D simulator of ships sinking, liners going down, and ferries going under. The developers set everything in the waters of an unknown ocean, where a new disaster could unfold within minutes. Which one exactly? That depends entirely on the captain at the helm. Perhaps a passenger liner or a service vessel stays intact and never ends up as a home for fish on the scenic seafloor. Yet experience suggests that, with 99% probability, virtual ships are bound to repeat the fate of the Titanic…
Atmosphere, Gameplay, and Events
The sandbox's main draw is its wide range of simulation elements that govern how ships sit in the water, how quickly any vessel breaks apart, and how the water itself behaves. Structural integrity, the density of the ocean and sea, and even the layout of various underwater landmarks are calculated in real time. As a result, players get plenty of options: every disaster becomes fully controllable, and building any scenario is genuinely engaging.
The workflow is simple. First, choose a vessel, then map out an action plan, and from there fine-tune extra parameters such as materials, controls, and various situations. Can't wait to try it? Now is the perfect time to dive in, since it runs locally with no need to search for a server!
