Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier is a Battle Royale game built specifically for mobile devices. It is set in Midgar, decades before the main story of the series begins. What sets The First Soldier apart from other titles in this genre is that players can rely on magic as well as conventional weapons.
The game takes place 30 years before the events of Final Fantasy VII, when the Shinra company sets up an experimental unit called "SOLDIER" made up of enhanced fighters. Your main goal is to survive and climb through the ranks. Soldiers make use of advanced gear such as energy shields, while the map itself closely resembles Erangel from PUBG Mobile.
Like other battle royale titles, a "ring" steadily shrinks, pushing players to keep moving toward the center. Both solo and team modes are on offer, and in team mode players are organized into squads of three.
Long-range shooting isn't the only option here, since players can also engage enemies in close-quarters hand-to-hand combat. Various monsters roam the battlefield, and every kill earns skill points that can be spent to raise your abilities. Defeated monsters can also drop weapons or armor as rewards.
