Every location is made up of several enemy waves you have to get through. Each new wave is noticeably tougher than the last, with enemies boasting more health and hitting hard enough to seriously rattle the protagonist. At the start, the hero carries an ordinary sword. To attack, just tap the buttons on the screen's left and right edges. These same controls move your character where you need to go and let you dodge incoming enemy strikes.

Defeat a set number of enemies and your hero levels up, unlocking one of several abilities. Vampirism, for example, restores health with every hit you land.
