Description
Double Dragon Trilogy
Double Dragon Trilogy offers two game modes, arcade and story, along with three difficulty levels, including an easiest setting specially tuned for mobile devices, labeled "Mobile". The developers have also included a co-op mode that lets you battle alongside a friend over Bluetooth.
Gameplay
This title is among the very first entries in the beat 'em up genre and is widely regarded as the one that started it all. You step into the shoes of a martial arts master whose kidnapped girlfriend needs rescuing.
Unleash elbow strikes, punches, knee and kick attacks, headbutts, and grab a range of street weapons to overwhelm your foes, and maybe even put them down for good.
Controls and Graphics
The control scheme follows a classic approach that suits modern touchscreen devices.
A virtual joystick in the lower left handles movement, while a cluster of action buttons on the right covers punch, kick, and jump.
Mix button presses with joystick movement to pull off a wide range of strikes, special attacks, and finishing combos.
The graphics are deliberately "retro": the 1987 original was brought to mobile platforms with few visual changes.
Expect flat 2D stages and small, simply drawn characters. The strike animations are fairly basic, but the backgrounds vary nicely from one location to the next, and that deserves some praise!
