Your role as a miner in Deep Town is easy to grasp, and all you start with is a spaceship. It lands on the surface and begins its descent into the ground to gather the resources you need. The soil you explore runs deep and hides many mysteries that you can take your time uncovering, using the right equipment to break through each layer. Every floor you clear rewards you with a certain amount of resources.

The interface is simple: you'll see an area split into many rock layers, and at the bottom of the screen sits the device you use to break them apart. Each layer has a bar similar to an HP bar, and once it's emptied by your damage, that rock layer shatters. You then move on to the next layers, which grow tougher the deeper you go.

USE WEAPONS TO REACH DEEPER LEVELS

Deep Town offers a wide variety of weapons. You begin with two, a laser fired from your spaceship and a set of drill-style AI helpers. To use a weapon, simply tap it and it fires right away. Once you've used a weapon, it needs to cool down before you can use it again, and more powerful weapons have longer cooldowns.

To the right of the weapon panel, you'll spot an arrow, which opens the upgrade feature for the weapons you're using. Each upgrade costs a certain amount of money, and higher levels require additional resources. Choosing the right weapon for each floor matters, since some floors contain not only rock layers but also mysterious creatures, such as tentacle-like plants. These plants cause drills to vanish faster than usual, so the laser is the better choice in those cases.

BUILD STATIONS TO SUPPORT YOUR MINING

Beyond digging, Deep Town also requires you to construct various stations that produce or craft new resources. The first production facility you'll unlock is the mining station, which generates a set amount of resources over time. It supports upgrades too, letting you boost the speed and capacity of the station for a specific resource.

Once you reach a certain level, you'll discover a new resource needed to upgrade new devices and stations. You can't obtain this one through mining alone; it must be refined. That's why you'll build a smelting station, which turns the raw materials you collect into ingots of the same type. Think carefully about whether to sell your refined goods for cash or process them into higher-quality items.
