Description
Contra: Tournament is a battle royale in the style of Fortnite and similar titles. Around 100 players are dropped into different areas of the map to scavenge rare weapons and gear while trying to be the last one standing. Overall, the game holds up well: by mobile battle royale standards the graphics look good, the interface lets you swap weapon attachments on the fly, and items are sorted into rarity tiers, among other things. Still, there's a catch, since the title belongs to Capcom. Contra: Tournament uses character models and even the Contra name itself, both of which are owned by Capcom. Judging by the screenshots and description, the developers clearly made a tribute to the classic franchise, yet they have no official connection to Capcom. On the plus side, players can team up in squads of four, which keeps things from getting dull, and the soundscape is built mainly from gunfire and footsteps.
