Color Picker lets you identify colors using your camera or an image, and it packs plenty of extra tools.

Find out a color's name

The app's database contains over a thousand entries drawn from well-known color palettes, including Common Colors, RAL Classic, HTML (W3C), Material Design, and more. Not sure which palette to pick? Start with the standard "Common Colors" palette, which covers the most recognizable shades.

Scope of Movement

Swipe your finger across the screen to resize the sampling area. You can quickly pick up the color at the center point or the average color across the entire selected region. Three scope shapes are available: circle, square, and dot. When you choose the circle, the average color is calculated only from the pixels inside that circle.

View scientific color data

Tap the laboratory flask icon to switch into expert mode. Here you'll see the color temperature (in Kelvin), the position of the color on the optical spectrum, color values across several models such as RGB, CMYK, and HSV, and the percentage match with the closest color in your selected palette. You can turn off any expert mode features you don't need from the settings.

Advanced camera settings

Adjust the focus mode, white balance, and other camera options manually to achieve more precise color identification.

Pick colors from photos

Open any image, tap the area where you want to sample a color, and save it. The in-app "Share" system dialog lets you send the picture to someone else. Every gesture commonly used when working with images is supported.

Work with saved colors

You can edit your saved colors, share the HEX value of any chosen color through the "Share" system dialog, and import or export all colors as CSV files.

Search or browse the color database. Searching by HEX value or color name will help you find the exact shade you need. You can also send any text to the app through the "Share" system dialog to search the database.
